ABSTRACT
Kosovo has recently returned to the attention of the global media, as negotiations for the future political and legal status of the entity were underway for most of 2007. The negotiations are intended by its diplomatic patrons – which include the ‘Contact Group’ consisting of the USA, France, Britain, Germany, Italy, and Russia, and the UN – to end the UN administration in Kosovo and institute some form of self-rule yet under international supervision.
