ABSTRACT

The aim of this chapter is to help decision-makers think clearly about the complex decision of whether to invest in biobanking in Hong Kong, by discussing some of the benefits and challenges of the investment. To limit the scope of the discussion, the pros and cons of biobanking in Hong Kong for advancing the study of dyslexia in Hong Kong will be chosen as an example to illustrate how priorities could be set. Some of the issues of trust and privacy of such an effort will be discussed.
