ABSTRACT
There are sonorous parallels, at the levels of discourse and ideology, between sex and sport.1 Sharp awareness of these parallels is key to understanding persisting sex inequalities within sport, for example, the disparities in funding, athletic scholarships, sponsorships, professional leagues, salaries, and media coverage. It is fundamental to understanding and eradicating a broader sexism also.
