ABSTRACT

Part 6 of the Act establishes a regime for the supply of alcohol to be regulated by the granting of personal licences to individuals. The personal licence relates only to the sale of alcohol, not to the provision of regulated entertainment or late night refreshment services, because, according to para 4.2 of the Guidance

sale and supply of alcohol, because of its impact on the wider community and on crime and anti-social behaviour, carries with it greater responsibility than the provision of regulated entertainment and late night refreshment. This is why individuals who may be engaged in making and authorising the sale and supply of alcohol require a personal licence.1
