ABSTRACT

INTRODUCTION This book sets out to provide a clear introductory text on English law and thorough coverage of the AS Law specifications, presenting the subject in a sufficiently interesting and stimulating way so that it appeals both to students and law teachers. It is intended as a guide and reference work for AS Law and as an aid to revision. The main purposes of this Introduction are:

• To consider, briefly, the question ‘What is law?’ • To explain the structure and format that have been used for the book. • To offer some flavour of its contents and ways of learning the law.
