ABSTRACT
The marginalization of the African continent over the past three decades has been characterized by slower economic growth than in other developing regions together with lower and less efficient investment levels. As Table 3.1 demonstrates, sub-Saharan Africa lags behind other developing nations in Central and Latin America as well as in Asia.
