ABSTRACT

Jordan is host to the Palestinian refugees who live inside as well as outside the 13 refugee camps. The refugee issue is discussed here from two angles, structural and affective (uncovering the psychological dimension of the dilemma). I will argue that unless the refugee question is resolved holistically and to the satisfaction of the parties concerned, the issue will continue to be surrounded by enough ambiguity to serve as a means for the opposition (mainly Islamists) to rally support against peace with Israel.
