ABSTRACT

Delphi technique has gained its popularity as a systematic and interactive technique to reach consensus in assessing a topic by experts. Although the process can be time consuming and need rigorous evaluations, the flexibility of time and space for the experts involved in the assessment can be the major benefit. Additionally, with the advancement in information technology, the time constraint can be minimized. The characteristics of the method and the important factors necessary to apply the technique are explained in this paper to provide information on the suitability and feasibility of using this technique in the research. The importance of feedback and iteration process in the Delphi technique is highlighted and an example of the application of the technique in research is provided for easy understanding.
