ABSTRACT
The early 21st century brought two major developments destined to revolutionize the relationship between journalists and the law: the surge in tightened access and secrecy following the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks and the maturing of the Internet into a world-changing social, political, economic, and journalistic institution.
