chapter  6
— Using Interviews in Action Research
Pages 15

Interviews put the researcher in personal contact with the participant. Thus, they can provide an opportunity to ask follow-up questions, reveal rich insights into the thinking of the participants and help explain why your participants made the choices they did or how they think about a particular issue. Possible topics could include interviewing students about their thinking processes when solving problems, interviewing other teachers about the implementation of a new strategy, or interviewing parents about their literacy practices at home.
