Sustaining Arts-based School Reform

This chapter is the story of what happened in the A+ arts-infused school reform initiative after the pilot funding ended. We interviewed key leaders of all the schools to reassess their cultural identities.2 We then paid visits to a subset of schools where a substantive identity remained, or in one case, emerged.3 Thus, in this chapter we address the critical question of whether and how arts-based reform sustains itself.
