ABSTRACT

So far, we have examined the key attributes and functions of criticism as well as its application to the various components of the communication process. In this chapter, we further explore electronic media criticism by looking at knowledge acquisition. How do individuals and audiences come to know and understand things? How might their comprehension procedures be categorized? How can media criticism consider these differences in knowledge attainment when appraising the potential of program product? These are the major questions this chapter discusses.
