ABSTRACT

Numerous individuals and groups are working to bring about an economics that is more explanatorily powerful than the approach that currently dominates the modern academy. There is no unique way of going about this, of course. As Bjørn-Ivar Davidsen notes my own strategy has been to pursue a project often depicted as philosophical or Lockean underlabouring.1 This involves seeking to clear the ground of obstacles that stand in the way of progress rather than substituting an alternative set of substantive theories.
