ABSTRACT
From the previous chapter a surprisingly simple view of power is beginning to emerge. Power is the means by which purpose is translated into action. Stated the other way around power is the “power to” achieve purpose and in turn to re-create purpose. It is this circular link between purpose and power that will allow us to take the next step in building a theory of power that is inseparably linked with the concept of organization.
