Few other American Mafi as have commanded the same level of interest as that headed by Giuseppe “Joseph” Morello. Chandler correctly argued that the Morello-Terranova family “would provide a continuous link in New York’s organized crime history.” Although it was an exaggeration to contend that the Morellos were “perhaps the deadliest kinship group ever to enter the county,”1 their infl uence extended to Chicago and Louisiana, and the American Mafi a community held Morello in esteem.
