ABSTRACT

Information literacy (IL) is critical to the provision of evidencebased practice (EBP) in today’s health care environment. A university group of nursing and allied health faculty at Northwestern State University of Louisiana were concerned that student knowledge and skills were not to the depth and degree necessary to practice EBP effectively in their respective professions. As a result, a grassroots movement, initiated by this group, set out to develop, implement, and evaluate an IL program. This chapter describes the process utilized to make that plan a reality.
