Librarians in the Online Classroom: Proactive Bibliographic Instruction for Distance

The Internet has transformed the way information is created, compiled, and disseminated. This new technology has had significant ramifications for traditional instructional methods-effectively eliminating any distinctions between “around the corner” and “around the world.” The virtual classroom’s rapid growth and widespread acceptance has created a new, more efficient milieu for distance education, but it has also produced an array of unique and challenging issues for contemporary information professionals.
