ABSTRACT
Many years ago, I remember seeing a tabloid at the grocery store. As my mother started to place food on the check-out counter, I took down the rag and started to look at the story, which intrigued my fourteen-year-old eyes. The headline blared “British couple swap sexes!” and the article talked about the couple who started off as a conventional man and woman and ended up in “reverse” gender roles. The story included pictures of the transsexual coupling, and though sensationalistic in tone, I remember feeling excited to see the story. There was a whole world of people like me out there, and they were even forming families!
