ABSTRACT

In contrast to malingering after mild and/or questionable traumatic brain injury, very little has been published about malingering after moderate to severe (M-S) traumatic brain injury (TBI). This might be due to a supposed lower incidence of malingering after M-S TBI than mild TBI (e.g., Binder & Rohling, 1996; Demakis, Sweet, Sawyer, Moulthrop, Nies, & Clingerman, 2001; Green & Iverson, 2001; Green, Iverson, & Allen, 1999), or possibly a reluctance to accuse someone who has been seriously injured of such behavior.
