The body that is verbally inaccessible and developmentally undifferentiated needs access, description, understanding, even perhaps construction in analysis. Winnicott (1965) first used the term embodiment as synonymous with " indwell ing," a seamless linkage of self, body functions, and the limiting membrane of the skin.
