ABSTRACT

Although the scripts presented in this book offer an opportunity to practice the skills and procedures involved in hypnotherapy, ultimate responsibility for the content of a hypnotherapy session rests with the individual therapist. Ideally every hypnotherapy session is developed in response to the unique needs, interests, personality, and ongoing responses of the client. In other words, effective hypnotherapy depends on an ability to develop on-the-spot ideas for induction procedures, metaphorical anecdotes, and suggestions and to modify the procedures used as the client reacts to what is being said.
