ABSTRACT

This chapter outlines the history of supervision in the ®eld of dramatherapy within the UK. Some of the models of providing supervision in dramatherapy training are discussed. This is followed by a discussion of some of the issues inherent within training concerning the form and nature of supervision. These include a consideration of the bene®ts of group or individual supervision, whether supervision should be provided within the training programme, or external to it, the separation of managerial and clinical supervision in placements, and the issues and dynamics around assessment in the supervisory relationship.
