ABSTRACT

Crosby–Textor is a small Australian firm with expertise in strategic communications and campaign execution. Its principals acquired and refined their skills via involvement with the conservative Liberal Party in successive Australian election campaigns. Lynton Crosby is a former Liberal national campaign director. Mark Textor remains the Liberals’ chief pollster and has been intimately involved in the execution of national- and state-level Liberal election campaigns in Australia since 1996. Recently Crosby–Textor has been able to spread its wings. It advised the British Conservative Party and its leader for the May 2005 general election in that country, and then steered the Nationals’ 2005 campaign in New Zealand. Crosby–Textor’s capacity to ply its trade in countries other than Australia is testimony to the increasing “sameness” of campaigning in different settings which is now widely acknowledged. 1
