ABSTRACT
Following devolution of powers to the Scottish Parliament, the Northern Ireland Assembly and the Welsh and Greater London Assemblies, considerable variation exists between different regions of the UK. Below, the situation applicable in the UK and England as a whole is described first, followed by national and regional variations.
