ABSTRACT
Beginning with this chapter we will embark on an exploration of some of the important issues that underlie writing for digital media. We shift our attention from the skills and techniques of writing and editing for online environments to look at some specific contexts in which our content might appear. These contexts pose unique challenges for us as content developers, as the trend of citizen journalism demonstrates. How does the professional journalist stand out when anyone can do journalism, when seemingly everyone is doing journalism?
