ABSTRACT
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has had a long and interesting history in the arena of international co-operation and investigation. Beginning in 1940 with the first assignment of FBI personnel at the US Embassy in Mexico City, to the 71 offices and sub-offices of today, the FBI has dedicated significant personnel and financial resources to the development and maintenance of its international relationships which do so much to enhance FBI investigations.
