ABSTRACT
Dredging machines, how they carry out the dredging process, what effects this may have on the environment, and how these effects may be mitigated or eliminated is the focus of this chapter. To evaluate the environmental performances of different dredging equipment, techniques and procedures, a systematic approach using specific criteria is presented.
