ABSTRACT

The assessment may result in a number of environmentally acceptable options. The final selection is based on weighing and balancing a broader set of case-specific factors which may include: additional environmental aspects (e.g. potential for noise and air pollution, potential damage to aesthetics and cultural resources, and impacts on the health of the operating crew); implementability and availability; site operation and management feasibility; costs; safety, and public acceptance. Law (EIA procedure) may require involvement of the public and concerned agencies.
