ABSTRACT
Danger, danger! A discussion of philosophy will follow! While this intimidating subject might send some “running for the hills,” philosophy is really a very simple set of ideas that provides us with a way of understanding our world. Actually the word philosophy is derived from the Greek philos, or love, and sophos, or wisdom. In other words, philosophy refers to the “love of wisdom.” As lovers of wisdom, teachers are at the heart of the enterprise of philosophy. Teachers take their love of learning and pass on a small part of it to their students.
