ABSTRACT
Public schools around the world today are being called upon to serve a much more heterogeneous student population than ever before. In this regard, including students with disabilities in regular schools continues to attract much controversy. Bringing about change in education is difficult, especially when it involves a redefinition of roles and responsibilities on the part of school personnel towards a group of people whom society has only relatively recently accorded dignity and basic human rights.
