ABSTRACT
As I think about the words in this gospel song, I can only look upon my past with relief and anticipate the future with hope. I ask myself what it is that has guided me to this, my junior year in college and my twentieth year in the world. The answer is, in short: motivation; hard work; determination; love; and, of course, God. There have been frequent ups and downs-times when I did much soul-searching. During these periods I learned to dig deep. I tried to
understand why what was happening at that particular time was so important to me and then plan my future course of action accordingly. I was not always sure that the steps that I was about to take were the right ones. However, I did know that no matter what the outcome, there was a lesson I could learn. Often there were tears that could flow river-deep. Nevertheless, I knew that I would never give up on a dream, for my faith and hope reached far into the sky. Barriers became temporary hinderances which, once overcome, would make me a true victor-fit and able to handle future problems.
