ABSTRACT

Johnnie Williams, a former Holmesburg inmate, remembers the Army trailers well. Williams's numerous arrests over four decades enabled him to participate in many of Dr. Kligman's experiments, and he became one of Holmesburg Prison's most persistent and active experimental recruits. But the battery of tests he underwent in the trailers stand out. Williams, a powerfully built, dark-complexioned man, who has lost the threatening swagger of his youth and now tries to hide a slight limp, believes he was used for a number of mind-disabling experiments including at least two LSD tests. “I had some really bad experiences in those trailers,” says Williams in an interview. 1
