ABSTRACT
My oldest daughter, Hannah, recently celebrated her Bat Mitzvah. As is the custom on the occasion of this coming-ofage ceremony, she read from the Torah, chanting a portion of the book of Exodus. Her passage included the Ten Commandments. After reading her Torah portion, she gave a short speech, responding to the passage she had read.
