The Encounter of 1948 and the Israeli State

During the War of 1948, the Zionist leadership of the Yishuv declared the establishment of a sovereign state named Israel. This chapter will deal with the nature of that state, and with the transformation that took place following the encounter in that state between the three groups whose “national” projects we have been following.
