I. ABSTRACT This chapter reviews the effects of selective estrogen receptor modulators (SERMs) on their own, as well as in combination with other therapies, on breast cancer, osteoporosis, the cardiovascular system, and cognitive function. The advantages and disadvantages of SERMs compared with aromatase inhibitors in the treatment of breast cancer are also discussed.
