ABSTRACT

Actuator saturation is inevitable in feedback control systems. If it is ignored in the design, a controller may "wind up" the actuator, possibly resulting in degraded performance or even instability. A classical approach to avoiding such undesirable behaviors is to add an anti-windup compensator to the original controller [1,7,11,13,14,21,25]. This approach has an advantage of providing control engineers with insights, for the role of each control component is clear.
