ABSTRACT
In retrospect, the ready home that game theory found in the field of security studies is not very surprising. Much of the gestalt of game theory may easily be discerned in the corpus of diplomatic history and in the work of the most prominent theorists of international politics.1 And its key concepts have obvious real-world analogues in the international arena.
