ABSTRACT

Here’s a story they tell over and over again. Once there was a fatherwith thirteen sons, and the smallest was called Tridicinu.52 The fatherwas unable to support his sons, but he did whatever he could to get soup on the family table. Their mother would call them to the table crying out, “First come, first served for hot soup.” Tridicinu always got there first, and got the first portion of minestrone. For that reason, his brothers began to hate him and were ready to use any means to get rid of him.
