ABSTRACT

As I see it, critical race theory recognizes that revolutionizing a culture begins with the radical assessment of it.

Critical Race Theory was first introduced into the field of education in the mid1990s.2 Interest in the approach has grown rapidly and CRT has been enthusiastically embraced by many educators, especially (but not exclusively) people of color. Predictably, CRT has attracted critical comment on both sides of the Atlantic, especially from those who feel that it gives undue attention to racism rather than class divisions.3
