Before you read this chapter, think about what makes “dirty” words dirty? What should be done, if anything, to people who burn flags; why? Would you rather buy an article of clothing from a sales-clerk or from an apparel broker; why? Finally, the Latinate words for “going to the bathroom” are more acceptable than are their Anglo-Saxon counterparts; why?
