ABSTRACT

On June 10, 2002, I received an email invitation to Vivian Livingston’s book signing for her soon to be published autobiography, The Autobiography of Vivian Livingston. Vivian wrote, “Not too sure what to expect actually . . . all I know is that I’m beyond nervous and the more friendly faces, the better!” (Livingston). Determined to support Vivian, I made plans to travel to New York City on Wednesday, June 26th in order to be present for her book signing at Barnes and Noble on 86th and to check out the after party at the bar Fitzpatrick’s, which was just around the corner. After all, Vivian assured me that there would be free goody bags! How could I resist?
