ABSTRACT
I turn now to research on and using animals. While the position I shall argue for is considerably more permissive than the position of animal rights advocates, and considerably more permissive than my position on human embryo research, I shall nonetheless argue for some kinds of moral restrictions not always acknowledged by defenders of animal experimentation and research.
