ABSTRACT

Most of us can probably remember an apathetic phase in our own education career when we tried to get by with as little effort as possible, and suddenly found ourselves with a teacher who had other ideas for us-a teacher bent on ensuring that we did all the work and actually learned something. In this story about Gunnar, this proverbial cat-and-mouse game between student and instructor is acted out over the use of ICTs in the classroom. You will get to know Gunnar from his own perspective. You will hear him explain his teaching goals, learn why they are so vital to him, and come to understand the nature of his fear if he is not successful. You will also see examples of some unexpected side-effects that occurred as Gunnar pursued his goals.
