ABSTRACT

The client is the key member of any team engaged in a construction project and will need to establish means of acting efficiently within the team to ensure the success of the project. Responsibilities of the client are both legal and contractual and include the following:

Appointment of consultants and contractor(s); Health and safety under the CDM regulations; Defining and specifying the outcomes required from the project; Making appropriate decisions and giving approvals within a set timescale; Providing payment to contracted parties for services provided.
