ABSTRACT
Max Abrahamson, the eminent construction lawyer, considered risk management (RM) ‘the most delicate and dangerous subject I could find’ (Abrahamson, 1984). This comment indicates the potential difficulties of attempting to manage risk. Indeed, sometimes it seems as though it is not a science but more an art based on years of experience and ‘gut-feelings’.
