ABSTRACT

I took every child who wanted to come and we met just about every day, at morning break, because I believed then – and still do – that for primary music groups a short session every day is much better than a long rehearsal every week. For me, that rehearsal spot was sacrosanct. I’d walk out of whatever I was doing to meet my choir in the hall at 10.15. I put in a lot of preparation time, too, finding and arranging music, and making arrangements for concerts and trips.
