ABSTRACT
THIS CHAPTER EXPLORES historical, legislative, political and practice issues that have impacted upon and helped to fashion the current situation in providing a more diverse range of services and practitioners for early years children and their families. The chapter discusses professional values and their influence on children’s needs and participation rights, and considers some of the challenges to effective interprofessional practices and how these may impact on children’s involvement and inclusion in matters that affect them.
