ABSTRACT
This chapter outlines a theoretical agenda for the reclamation of a landscape radically altered by gold mining. The purpose of the chapter is to demonstrate that even quite modest alterations of disturbed terrain can open up the rich theoretical seams that weave through the concept of waste.
