ABSTRACT
Making a career move is a major life change that involves a large amount of planning. This chapter covers the practicalities of taking your career in a new direction, and explores the following areas:
• auditing and planning your finances to help you through a job change;
• looking into the effects a career change might have on your pension;
• making choices about the right direction for you; • working as a freelance, becoming self-employed and running a
small business; • the different mindset required to work in a setting other than a
school or college.
