Tortsov was in the middle of an [explanation] when the curtains suddenly opened at a signal from Rakhmanov and we saw a large blackboard with a sketch pinned to it in the middle of Marya’s apartment. It pictured what happens in an actor’s mind in the creative process. Here’s a copy of the sketch.
